Cybersecurity

A practical, hands-on program where you learn to protect systems, networks, and data from real-world cyber threats—aligned with industry-recognized cybersecurity certifications.

Module 1: Cybersecurity Foundations
- Understand core cybersecurity concepts (CIA triad, threats, vulnerabilities)
- Learn common attack types (malware, phishing, social engineering)
- Explore security roles, frameworks, and certifications

Module 2: Networks, Systems & How Attacks Work
- Review basic networking (IP, ports, protocols, firewalls)
- Understand how operating systems and services are targeted
- Walk through simple attack paths from recon to exploitation

Module 3: Securing Devices, Systems & Endpoints
- Harden operating systems and user devices
- Configure antivirus/EDR, patching, and secure configurations
- Apply least privilege and secure authentication practices

Module 4: Identity, Access & Cloud Security Basics
- Manage users, roles, and permissions securely
- Use multi-factor authentication and strong password policies
- Understand basic cloud security concepts and shared responsibility

Module 5: Web, Application & Data Security
- Recognize common web app vulnerabilities (e.g., OWASP Top 10)
- Protect data with encryption in transit and at rest
- Apply secure coding and data protection best practices

Module 6: Monitoring, Logging & Incident Detection
- Use logs and alerts to spot suspicious activity
- Understand SIEM basics and security monitoring workflows
- Build simple playbooks for common security events

Module 7: Incident Response & Recovery
- Follow an incident response lifecycle (prepare, detect, contain, recover)
- Practice handling a simulated security incident
- Plan backups, recovery, and business continuity

Module 8: Governance, Risk & Compliance
- Identify and assess security risks
- Understand policies, standards, and common regulations
- Align security controls with business goals

Module 9: Capstone & Certification Preparation
- Work through a real-world cybersecurity case study
- Map modules to key certification domains (e.g., Security+, CySA+)
- Build a personal study plan and cybersecurity career roadmap

By the end of this program, learners will understand core cybersecurity concepts, know how to reduce risk in real environments, and be prepared to pursue entry-level cybersecurity certifications.
